USAW 2014 Folkstyle Nationals - IL Girls Wrestling Recap

The below IL Girls Wrestling Recap information was accumulated from registered wrestlers via TrackWrestling.com.

We had 40 girls listed in brackets as Team Illinois. Note: Three girls (Ge`Nae Sampract, Desiree Giamarusti and Andrea Sennett) wrestled in the Cadet & Junior Divisions this year to officially give Team Illinois 43 brackets we participated in.

We had 35 All-Americans and 6 national champs.

There were 3 girls that wrestled in the Cadet and Junior individual tournaments as well as for the Junior Dual team. All 3 of them achieved All-American status twice and had winning records for our dual team.

Ge'Nae Sampract

There was so much fantastic wrestling from all participants. All involved should be proud of their effort.

University Nationals information

Erin Golston, Illinois native and the guest clinician at our state championship tournament won the national championship at 48kg (105.5lbs).

Congrats Erin on the championship and thanks for being another example for our girls to look up to and for giving back to the great state of Illinois.
